Where monasteries hang on the edge of cliffs and the Caucasus rises vertically out of the valley like a wall. Georgia does not fit any category. It is not Europe, not Asia, not the Middle East. It is something of its own: a country that invented wine, an alphabet and hospitality, and defended them for 3,000 years against everyone who tried to take them away.

What you need to know before you apply.
Level 2/5. This is a cultural and wine expedition with some light trekking. The only demanding moment is the optional walk up to Gergeti (approx. 1.5h, 400 m of ascent). The rest is walks and drives. You do not need special preparation, you need readiness for a lot of food, wine and emotion.
Visa: EU citizens do not need a visa for Georgia (up to 1 year). Passport: valid for at least 6 months. Vaccinations: none required. Currency: Georgian lari (GEL). Cards are accepted everywhere in the cities.
Best season: May to June and September to October. Tbilisi: 20 to 30°C in summer. Kakheti: warm and sunny. Kazbegi: 10 to 20°C during the day, 0 to 5°C at night. Comfortable walking shoes plus a warm layer for the Caucasus. Light clothing and an appetite. Full list after booking.

Yes. Georgia is one of the safest countries in the Caucasus and, according to the statistics, safer than most European countries. Georgian hospitality is not marketing, it is culture. Complete strangers will invite you for wine. That is normal here.
A supra is a Georgian feast, though the word does not capture the scale. The tamada (master of ceremonies) leads the toasts: to family, to the homeland, to the dead, to the future. The table bends under the dishes. The wine never stops. It is not a dinner, it is a philosophy of life in the form of a banquet. Our supra takes place at a private vineyard, not in a restaurant.
No. Nobody forces anyone. But Georgia without wine is like Italy without pasta: possible, yet a little sad. At the tastings you can take the smallest sips. At the supra you can raise your toasts with water. Nobody will take offence.
Wizz Air flies direct Warsaw to Tbilisi from around 500 PLN return if you book in advance. It is one of the cheapest flights from Poland to an exotic destination.
Yes, as a separate version of the expedition (5 to 6 days, IFMGA guide, 1,260 EUR). It is a climb that requires crampons, an ice axe and fitness. We do not combine it with the cultural programme, they are two different products.
Yes: ski touring in Svaneti (7 days) and Gudauri (6 days), plus Bakhmaro cat skiing (6 days). These are programmes for experienced skiers, with certified IFMGA guides. Separate dates, separate price.
